November Newsletter

Dear Families,

I can’t believe we are almost into November!  Our class continues to do a
great job in first grade and has been working very hard. We have another
busy month ahead, so I thought I would send you  some reminders and
important dates to remember once again:

*Students will have a math page to complete for homework each Tuesday
and ThursdayPlease have your child complete this and return it the next
day! This is a great practice from the day’s lesson.

*Every week your child will be sent home with the weekly high-frequency
(trick) wordsand spelling words to practice at home!

*As it gets colder out, please be sure to dress your child in appropriate
outerwear.  Children still go out to recess, even when it’s cold, so heavier
coats, hats, and gloves are necessary for those cold days outside!

*Your child can use their QR code to sign into Clever from any device (home
or school) that has a camera! We use these in school, and there is an extra
QRcode in each of their home folders. Their Clever account will allow them
to get to my Google Classroom and McGraw Hill. Click on this link to sign in.
Please make sure you are logged out of any other Google account or it will
not log them in.

*I will send home the monthly READO for optional reading activities and
exposure. Feel free to turn this in at the end of the month in your child’s
home folder for a small prize/sticker.

Suggestions for Home Practice:
*Read each night for 15 minutes
*Practice the Wonders Trimester 1 Trick Words
(they are on this website)
 *Practice addition facts to 10
*Practice writing letters and numbers correctly
*Go on McGraw Hill to practice reading and phonics skills!

I wish you all a wonderful month!
