April Reminders

 

Dear Families, 

Here are some reminders and updates for this month!

*We will have our virtual author field trip on April 16th and we are very excited to hear Katherine Applegate read the book, Doggo and Pupper to us. Your child will be coming home with a hard-cover copy of this book and a bookmark after the event.

*The first grade will be going on a field trip to the Stockbridge Theatre in Derry to view the play, Ada Twist, Scientist and Friends on May 21st. Please be on the lookout for permission slips coming home in the next few weeks with more information. There will be no cost for this trip.

*First grade will be participating in, Walk to Learn, during WIN time. At this time, your child may be going to a different classroom to get what they need, based on reading comprehension, phonemic awareness, etc. This will be a fun opportunity for your child to work with other students and help them get what they need for ELA support. We will only be participating in Walk to Learn for about 30 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays during WIN time. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding this. The students are excited!

*As always, I am sending home the monthly READO for optional reading activities and exposure. Feel free to turn this in at the end of the month in your child’s home folder for a small prize/sticker.
